Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat) charm depicts a scene from the poster art by Théophile Steinlen. Le Chat Noir was a nineteenth-century entertainment establishment, in the bohemian Montmartre district of Paris. It is considered to be the first modern cabaret.
The artwork print is sealed and displayed under domed glass. The charm comes with a jump ring and may be added to a charm bracelet or inserted onto a necklace to be worn as a petite pendant.
The charm is silver plated brass, round and is approximately 3/4 inches (19mm) in diameter. The jump ring is silver plated brass and is approximately 6mm in diameter. While the charm is water resistant, it is not waterproof. It should not be worn during bathing, showering and swimming.
Available with no necklace (charm only) or with a cable chain (silver finished brass) in silver tone w/ lobster claw clasp and 1" extender chain.
Théophile Alexandre Steinlen (1859 – 1923) was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker.
