The Southern Cross constellation illustration charm depicts the shining stars of Crux. The brightness of each star within the constellation is reflected in the size of the star's representation in the illustration, and the star glows with the shown color. Cooler stars appear reddish orange, and hotter stars are blue. Yellow and white stars are in between.
The artwork print is sealed and displayed under domed glass. The charm comes with a jump ring and may be added to a charm bracelet or inserted onto a necklace to be worn as a petite pendant.
The charm is silver plated brass, round and is approximately 3/4 inches (19mm) in diameter. The jump ring is silver plated brass and is approximately 6mm in diameter. While the charm is water resistant, it is not waterproof. It should not be worn during bathing, showering and swimming.
Available with no necklace (charm only) or with a cable chain (silver finished brass) in silver tone w/ lobster claw clasp and 1" extender chain.
The Southern Cross is also known as Crux, a constellation located in the southern sky in a bright portion of the Milky Way. The constellation's Latin name means "cross". In the Southern Hemisphere, the Southern Cross is frequently used for navigation in much the same way that the Polaris is used in the Northern Hemisphere.
