The Tadpole star cloud pendant dangles from a luxurious black voile ribbon necklace. The scene depicts the Tadpole star cloud in the constellation Cygnus where new stars are forming. This pendant is silver tone, and the necklace closes with a silver tone lobster claw clasp & two inch extender chain. The artwork print is sealed and displayed under domed glass.
The Tadpole star cloud, or IRAS 20324+4057, is a clump of blue gas and dust has given birth to several protostars, one of the earliest steps in a stars life. At the center of the "head" is a large bright protostar. The Tadpole spans roughly a light-year from head to tail-tip and contains gas weighing almost four times the mass of the sun. It is located 4,700 light-years from Earth in the constellation Cygnus.
The necklace measures approximately 18 inches long, and the pendant is a 1 inch square (not including bail). While the pendant & necklace is water resistant, it is not waterproof. Please remove it when bathing, showering and swimming.
